Helping Children and Teens Heal, Grow and Thrive.
Call 24/7Children and teenagers can struggle with mental health issues just the same as adults. In the U.S., more than 16 percent of kids under age 18 – or one out of six – experience a mental health disorder such as depression, anxiety, or substance abuse. Yet nearly half do not receive treatment.*
The good news is, children’s mental health programs at our Tampa, FL-area facilities can prevent more severe, lasting problems as kids get older. That’s why it’s so important to get help as early as possible.
We offer help to adolescent females ages 13-18. And we offer hope to kids and their families.
What We Treat
It can be tough to know if you have a mental health disorder, especially when you’re a teenager or younger. These years can be challenging for anyone.
But it’s not uncommon for symptoms of potentially serious illnesses to first show during adolescence. These conditions are painful, dangerous, and frightening.
We treat children and teens with:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Bipolar disorder
- Other mood disorders
- Substance use disorder
Our facility provides a safe, secure space where kids can grow and heal, where they can learn skills that will help them for the rest of their lives.
What Treatment Programs Look Like
At our treatment center, kids participate in programs designed specifically for them. They’re cared for by a team of mental health professionals who are trained in working with children and teens. All of our programs include an educational component so that kids can keep up with their schoolwork.
Inpatient treatment
We offer 24-hour medical monitoring for who are emotionally unstable. Inpatient treatment also provides a variety of therapeutic activities, as well as medication management.
In all children's mental health programs, families play an important role in helping kids develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Children and teens also have opportunities to participate in group therapy centered around topics of interest to them, like LGBTQ, dealing with trauma, and faith-based support.
DBT Therapy for Children and Teens
For adolescents who need structured support to manage emotions, behaviors, and relationships, we offer DBT therapy (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). DBT treatment is an evidence-based approach proven to help young people understand their emotions, cope with distress, and improve communication.
Our program includes:
- Individual DBT-informed therapy with licensed clinicians
- A structured DBT skills group for teens
- Family involvement to reinforce skills at home
- Age-appropriate curriculum built to support emotional development
Our facility offers accessible DBT programming for teens which focuses on four essential skill areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Our DBT-trained staff employ structured, skills-based therapy strategies for the intense emotions, impulsive behaviors, and relationship challenges that often accompany behavioral health needs in children and adolescents. By building emotional regulation skills, teaching distress tolerance, encouraging mindfulness and balancing acceptance, DBT-informed therapy is especially useful for teens who feel overwhelmed or “out of control” at times and is helpful in situations of self-harm, substance use, aggression and impulsivity.
How to Get Started
The first step is a comprehensive mental health assessment at our facility. During this assessment, we gather information about your child’s symptoms, history, and needs. We also provide orientation for parents and answer questions about what to expect in treatment.
Assessments can be scheduled by phone or chat 24/7.
After the assessment, our team will work with your family to create a personalized treatment plan based on your child’s goals and clinical needs.
